Dynamite Toronto Communicators Team Up to Launch KPW Communications

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

Three communications veterans are combining their talents to launch KPW, a new full-service communications consulting firm based in Toronto. Founding partners Sarbjit Kaur, Naomi Parness and Karman Wong are experts with decades of experience in politics, media and public relations. They’re also friends, former colleagues and busy moms.

Sarbjit Kaur is an award-winning communications professional with a background in journalism and government. After leaving Queen’s Park, where she served as Senior Advisor to a cabinet minister in four government ministries and worked in the civil service, she launched her own firm, Kaur Communications. She was also a Senior Associate at Argyle PR for almost a decade.  “We know that clients want communicators who are nimble, smart and motivated to get results,” said Kaur. “We are a team of experts and go-getters, with an unusually broad range of experience that sets us apart. Because we’ve always been hands-on, we can handle just about anything. We are well-positioned to help organizations of any size, in any sector, accomplish their goals.”   Naomi Parness is an award-winning broadcast journalist and passionate storyteller. She was on the air for over 20 years, most recently with CTV News Toronto. As a reporter she broke many stories, covered many historic events, and held many roles including City Hall Bureau Chief and Education Specialist.  She also wrote, reported and helped produce a 5-part series about the Nazi death camps in Poland, winning the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Documentary. After her time on air, Naomi spent 3 years in the nonprofit world.  “I have always been a storyteller. Now more than ever, organizations need rich digital content to tell their stories. Together, we can use our years of experience to help clients tell their best stories to the world.  We’re creative, work with purpose, and can deliver results that stand out” said Parness. Karman Wong has over 20 years of experience as a broadcaster and communications professional. For the last decade, she was a reporter and anchor at Toronto news station, CP24 and filed reports for CTV News outlets, covering issues as diverse as elections, entertainment, crime and breaking news. Before this, she advised the Premier of Ontario, several Cabinet ministers and a number of political candidates on communications and issues management. “After many years in the industry, we know that our backgrounds in media, politics and the PR agency world gives us a unique perspective on meeting our clients’ needs,” said Wong. “We are all strategic thinkers with a strong work ethic, but different specialties. By coming together, we’ve created something much greater than the sum of our individual parts.” KPW is a full-service communications firm specializing in strategy, media relations, content creation and government relations.
